The portholes need trims to neatly blend them into the internal walls. The trims need to be shaped to allow the portholes to open. I decided the best way was to make fibreglass panels shaped on a male plug mould.
The mould is made from plywood and is shaped and sanded to the required profile. It is then sealed and polished with 6 coats of hard car wax before being sprayed with silicon to assist the release.
The panel is made from layers of glass cloth and epoxy resin. Once released the panel is cut to shape and fitted into the internal wall.
