The catamaran is a Skoota 36 designed by Richard Woods.
It is a cruising motor catamaran powered by outboard engines.
Construction is of timber and plywood sheathed in epoxy fibreglass.
Richard Woods supplies a set of plans in PDF format. The plans are clear if you are used to reading drawings but there are no instructions or build sequences so you have to work these out for yourself. Richard is contactable by email and he will discuss plans and he incorporated some modifications I requested.
There is a Skoota-36 being built in Canada and this project is about one year ahead of mine. Dinis, the builder, has been great and shared lots of photos which really helps me understand the build process.
I have modified the original design to increase the length to 12 metres (40') and to broaden the beam to 6 metres (20'). These changes were done to create more space in the hulls to improve the sleeping accommodation.
